Emma Overton
Leadership Consultant
Emma has been a primary school teacher for 20 years and the Head Teacher of Stephenson Memorial Primary school since 2010. Outcomes at the school improved greatly under her leadership leading to a strong Ofsted report in January 2018. Since September 2017 she has been Head Teacher at The British School of Barcelona.
She is passionate about developing leadership at every level in schools in order to raise standards in achievement. She is a keen advocate of REAL© Projects and developing ‘adults as facilitators of learning’ in order to allow children to ‘lead their own learning’. She is able to demonstrate also the positive impact that this pedagogical approach has on school outcomes.
She is an experienced ‘system leader’ and as part of her work Emma has also been involved in; mentoring new Head Teachers, working with schools for NTLT to improve standards of Teaching and Learning across the borough, presenting for the National College of Leadership and working with trainee Head Teachers through the NPQH Placement School and Future Leaders.
